Publication Ethics

Journal of Media and Interdisciplinary Studies (JMIS) encourages and adheres to the highest standards for accurate and ethical conduction.

Authorship and Conflict of Interest

Authorship:

anonymous writers are not permitted to publish in JMIS. Any paper in which a writer has contributed at the author level to the paper but is not listed among the authors is referred to as ‘ghost author’. authors who contributed to the creation of the research paper but do not fit the requirements for authorship should be acknowledged in the publication's acknowledgements section, along with a brief description of their nature of participation.

Conflict of Interests:

JMIS journal has an obligation to the public and its readers; to publish papers based on objective and transparent findings and analysis. JMIS believe that further ties between authors that can create a conflict of interest should be disclosed to the readers. Since the authors' financial or other interests may conflict with the objective presentation of facts or analysis, thus, readers must be aware of these conflicts, in order to evaluate the information and opinions offered in any media partner journal.

Therefore, JMIS requires that manuscripts should be accompanied by clear disclosures from all authors of their affiliations, funding sources and sponsorships that might raise concerns about possible sources of bias.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

Plagiarism:

JMIS uses software to verify all submissions. Papers are checked for plagiarism against millions of publications and online sites. All quotations used by authors must be properly work-cited and referenced in a bibliography. The editorial board will assess any major overlap with an already published material. If necessary, the editorial board will get in touch with the authors for clarification or instant correction. If the editorial board finds evidence of purposive plagiarism, the submission will be rejected immediately.

Use of third-party material and figure inclusion

Papers may occasionally include images, figures or tables created by a third-party (a non participant author). A documented permission must be noted from the copyright holder prior to publication.

Preprints and Prior Publication:

Any paper or section of a paper that has been published or is being considered for publication elsewhere, in any language, will not be taken into consideration by JMIS. Online and in-person conferences’ proceedings can be seen as published work, which would threaten the paper's originality. Kindly, contact the editorial board with concerns regarding this policy.

Data Sharing and Materials Availability:
